“Me vejo menos travada e com menos receio de me expressar, de me expor”: algumas notas antropológicas sobre o Teatro como Lazer

RESUMO

Este estudo é baseado em um trabalho de campo etnográfico de um ano, realizado entre fevereiro de 2021 e fevereiro de 2022, em uma escola de teatro em Niterói, Rio de Janeiro. O artigo versa sobre como os discentes, mais especificamente aqueles que não demonstravam motivações profissionais com o curso, significavam o seu contato com tal experiência. Ambiciona entender, dentre outras coisas, o que eles queriam dizer por “fazer teatro” e os usos que faziam dele. O Lazer, importante categoria acionada nesta análise, conserva chaves interpretativas cruciais ao que tange as emoções, suas modalidades de expressão e a vida interior dos sujeitos.

ABSTRACT

This study is based on a one year ethnographic fieldwork, made between February 2021 and February 2022, at a theater school in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro. The article deals with how the students, more specifically those who did not demonstrate professional motivations with the course, meant their contact with such an experience. It aims to understand, among other things, what they meant by “making theater” and the uses they made of it. Leisure, an important category used in this analysis, preserves crucial interpretative keys regarding emotions, their modalities of expression and the subjects inner life.
